Castle Dome Landing, also known as Castle Dome City, is a historic ghost town in the Castle Dome Mountains of Yuma County, Arizona. Once a bustling mining town, it now serves as a fascinating look back into Arizona’s mining history. Here’s what makes it a unique destination:

  • Historic Mining Hub: Established in 1863, Castle Dome Landing served as a supply and shipping point for local mines and was an essential stop for steamboats traveling the Colorado River. It was one of the earliest mining settlements in Arizona.
  • Castle Dome Mines Museum and Ghost Town: Today, the museum and ghost town offer over 50 restored buildings and numerous artifacts from Arizona’s mining days. Items from over 300 mines are on display, providing an authentic glimpse into the past.
  • Walking Tours and Preserved Structures: The museum offers a 1.8-mile walking tour through preserved structures, such as an assay office, saloons, and blacksmith shops. Each building showcases artifacts and information about life during the town’s peak.
